Welcome to Scarlet Oak School!
Dear Scarlet Oak Community:
Fall is now upon us and activities at Scarlet Oak School are in full swing. After School P.E. session 2 will begin on Monday, October 7th and SOS after school reading tutoring begins on Tuesday, October 8th.
Fourth Grade students interested in joining SOS singers will receive information from Mrs. Sellberg in the upcoming days. In addition, information on the new SOS kindness club will be sent home in the upcoming days as well.
Please mark you calendars, as our annual SOS Halloween Parade will take place on Thursday, October 31st at 11 am. Parents are more than welcome to line up along Albert Drive and take photos. Students are encouraged to wear their costumes to school that day. Please make sure that all costumes are age appropriate and free of all weapon related props.
At Scarlet Oak School, the faculty and staff work very hard to identify strengths and weaknesses in all students so that an appropriate and challenging education can be implemented for every student. Aimsweb and Star 360 testing for the fall has now been completed and reports are being sent home with your child. Students will regularly be assessed through Aimsweb, Star 360 and our annual I.A.R. assessment. Feedback will be provided to students and to parents regarding the academic progress of students. Last year’s I.A.R. results have been mailed to families of last year’s third grade students within the last week. If you did not receive your child’s I.A.R. results, please contact the school.
The office staff, guidance staff and school administration are always available to assist parents, students, and the community as we work together to provide an excellent education to every student. If you have any questions, concerns, or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our office at (708) 687-5822.
Mr. Scot Pierce
